5 Advantages of Blogging for Business – With Tips & Tricks
Hey there friend! So, are you debating whether or not to start a blog for your business?
Is blogging still even a thing in 2025? Where the world has been overtaken by instagram reels and tik-tok?
Or did we leave blogging behind in the year 2000?
Well, I'm here to ensure you that blogging is still *very* much a thing, and *very* important!
Whether you’re a creative entrepreneur, small business owner, freelancer, etc., having an active blog on your website is huge in terms of your growth and long-term success.
If you love to write, having a blog is perfect!
If you love attracting more of your dream clients and making more money, having a blog is (dare I say) perfect!
Even if you hate writing and would rather do literally anything else in the world, but you want the benefits that come from blogging, and will do everything you can to get your business *booming*. Don't worry, there's a solution for that.
In this article I’m going to break down why blogging is still profitable and *highly* important. I’ll even share with you some helpful tips on turning your blog articles into sales opportunities, along with how to still reap all the benefits of blogging even if you HATE writing.
Now, let’s jump right into it, shall we?
1. Increase Organic Website Traffic
Businesses with an active blog on their website receive 55% more organic traffic than those without one. Which is crazy right!? But why is that you might ask?
Well, the more SEO-friendly content you have on your website means search engines are going to rank your site *that much higher* and your target audience is going to find you *that much easier*.
The more informative content and quality keywords you have on your website, the more you will increase the odds of your dream clients finding your blog article… continuing to your website… and inquiring about your products or services.
I like to say that having an active blog is like building multiple different pathways for your dream clients to enter from, all of which lead to your website.
But remember, when it comes to SEO, the quality of how your content is written is just as important as your keywords.
If your articles are poorly written, search engines will take note of that. They will see that your page visitors are not sticking around and finding your content useful, therefore decreasing your websites ranking.
So, cut the fluff, get creative, show you give a damn, and write informative articles that provide value to your readers.
Plus, when you do this, more people are going to share your articles or link them in their own content (AKA backlinks, which are SUPER important for SEO as well) therefore, increasing your brand authority and making you a respected industry leader!
2. Increase Conversion Rates & Make More Sales
As you now know, blogging is going to increase your organic website traffic and attract more of your dream clients. So each article you write is an opportunity to make a new sale or gain a new client.
When it makes sense, you should find a way to reference your own products or services, linking to your websites home page, service page, etc. Typically, you can always do this in your conclusion at the end, like you’ll see I did in this article.
Do this when it genuinely relates and holds the potential to provide value to your readers, and don't think you're being annoying by doing this!
Odds are, someone who's browsing your article is at least somewhat interested in your niche and the products or services you offer, so you're really doing them a favor.
Your blog articles will give your readers a taste of who you are, a taste of what it is you’re selling, and how educated you are in your field. So never miss a valuable opportunity to give yourself a shout-out, ‘toot your own horn’, and put in a call to action (CTA).
3. Build Brand Authority & Trust With Your Target Audience
So yes, I briefly mentioned this in the very beginning, but I'm going to dive deeper into it!
By writing high-quality blog articles that are informative and accurate, you will stand out in your industry. Your peers and customers will view you as knowledgeable and trustworthy.
You're demonstrating your skills and dedication, you're basically shouting,
"I'm a professional and know what the heck I'm talking about!".
Your potential customers will trust your brand and recommend you over those who don’t demonstrate their skills, knowledge, and dedication (AKA those who don’t have a blog).
Plus, as your peers begin to view you as an industry leader, you will become their go-to source, especially when it comes to linking your articles in their own content (like I said before).
I can't stress enough friend... you don't want to be that person or business drowning among the sea of competition, that *isn't* going the extra mile... or *isn't* showing off your skills and dedication... or *doesn't* care to over deliver and extend helpful advice and information.
No, be that person/business that's known for standing out!
That's known for really caring about their audience.
That's known for making their dream clients drool over valuable, interesting content.
And to be honest, it's not as hard as you think to stand out. Because (I say this respectfully) not all of your competition is *good* competition.
Not everyone in your niche or industry is that great. There's more people than you think that aren't going the extra mile. That are doing the bare minimum. Those are the people that don't grow. That don't reach their goals and long-term success.
But YOU have goals... you're not satisfied with staying stuck, and never growing. Otherwise... you wouldn't be here reading this article, now would you?
4. Grow Your Email List and Clientele
Having an email list for your audience to subscribe to, is a great way to grow your business (this also falls under the category of going the extra mile in the eyes of your dream clients).
So, if you don’t already have one, a blog gives you a great reason to start one!
Even if you do already have one, a blog is a great way to grow your email list, gain new clients, and grow your business to the next level.
By starting a blog, you can update your subscribers every time you publish a new article. Give them a sneak peak of what they can expect in it. Entice them with a great email snippet and article headline, so they know there is valuable information inside.
Maybe even add some extra juicy tips and information in your emails. Making your subscribers more inclined to sign up and open them each time.
Show them you care and value them. Because you want to genuinely help and assist your audience. Which gives them a great insight into what working with you (or purchasing from you) would be like.
This is a great way to nurture your customer relationships as well. Your emails and blog articles may very well be the deciding factor for potential customers that are on the fence about purchasing your products or services.
On the other hand, this can also create repeat customers for your business. Keeping your brand front of mind and convenient for them to come back to.
5. Get Ahead of The Competition
As you know, competition is everywhere... and every successful business owner and freelancer is going to already have a blog on their website (notice I said successful).
But when it comes to writing your blog articles, it's a great opportunity to demonstrate why you're better than your top competitors. By finding a way to one-up your competition. Make your articles unique and stand out in some way. You can even use your top competitors blog articles as inspiration, but NEVER copy them.
Maybe you want to write about the same topic they did, which is fine, if you find a way to change it up and make it better. Do research so you can add even more (or better) valuable information, and site all your sources.
NEVER make your competition look better than you by getting lazy with your own articles!
Also, show your audience who you are as a person, by sprinkling each article with your unique brand voice and personality. Leave your mark on them.
Make yourself memorable in the mind of your readers.
Listen up...important information coming your way in 3...2...1...
You want your dream clients to click with *you*.
To match *your* energy.
To appreciate *your* vibe, and what makes you, YOU.
You don't want to work with clients who prefer working with your competition (let's call her Sally), because Sally is calm, cool, collected, and elegant.
While you on the other hand, are goofy, fun, laid back, and bold.
Just because Sally is highly successful, and has landed hundreds of clients or made thousands of sales, doesn't mean you need to mirror her unique style.
Being unapologetically you -while also being kick-ass at what you do and offer- is what's going to make you wildly successful and fall deeper in love with what you do.
This was a lesson I also had to learn myself... and let me tell you, it was for sure a breath of fresh air and life changing to my mental health. And it also made me fall even deeper in love with what I do (which for me, happened to be writing in the first place).
Now, I promised those of you who HATE writing, that I would share the solution to your problems...
So, that's what I'm going to do!
I know some of you out there can't think of anything worse than plopping down in front of your laptop, while trying to write for hours on end (while also having so many other things on your to-do list).
I get it, it's not for everyone. So where does the solution come from!?
Well, it comes in the form of a copywriter (*cough, cough* giving myself a shameless shout of here).
Okay yes... you caught me officer... I am indeed a copywriter. It's my job to sit down and write for hours on end. Yes, it pays the bills, but I also LOVE to write. It's my passion, and I like to think i'm pretty good at it as well (if you disagree, that's okay, but ya can't stop me).
Anywho... this section isn't meant for me to yap away about myself, saying, "hey, choose me as your copywriter, let me tell you why you should!". (if you want that though, you can get that treatment on my website.)
But no, seriously... you can choose to work with any copywriter you wish of course. Because there's lots of great ones out there. It's all about finding the right one for you, your needs, and your budget.
Regardless, hiring a copywriter may be exactly what you need if you hate writing, but want all the benefits that come from having a high-quality blog, or high-quality copy for your website, social media, email, etc.
All it takes is doing some research and finding the right copywriter for you.
Then, you can check the dreaded task of writing off your to-do list, and let your copywriter do all the heavy lifting.
Ending Thoughts…
Having a blog is still very relevant and important, today more than ever. Not to mention, it can also do wonders for the success of your business (when done right of course).
I personally believe having a blog is absolutely necessary for your immediate and long-term success. And The stats would 100% agree with me.
However, sometimes finding the passion, skills, or time to consistently write new, high-quality articles can be tough, I know.
Regardless though, I highly suggest starting a blog page for your website, even if that means investing in a skilled copywriter to write them for you. Trust me, it will be worth it.
Well, nonetheless, I truly hope this article was helpful to you in terms of deciding if blogging is right for you and your goals. Or maybe just some good juicy tips when it comes to writing your articles.
I wish you the best of luck on your blogging journey!
